Elkem Acquires New Plant in France

Elkem/NO has signed an agreement to acquire a brand-new plant near Lyon in France, custom-designed for producing highly specialised Organo-Functional Silicones (OFS). The acquisition underpins Elkem’s strategy of growth and specialisation. The purchase price is in the low double-digit millions of euros, and production is expected by the end of the year.

ALUMINIUM 2021 Rescheduled to 28–30 September

ALUMINIUM, the world's leading trade fair for the aluminum industry, scheduled for 18–20 May 2021, in Dusseldorf, Germany, has been rescheduled to 28–30 September. Organizer Reed Exhibitions made this decision in light of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic after discussions with exhibitors and partners. Uncertainties surrounding travel restrictions were also a deciding factor due to the international nature of ALUMINIUM.

New Bedeschi Turnkey Project with Forterra plc

Fortera plc, one of the largest brick manufacturers in Great Britain confirmed in 2019 its intention to take a very significant step forward with the British construction sector in mind, investing GBP 95 million in a new super plant at its Desford site in Leicestershire. In order to keep current production levels during construction, the existing plant will be kept operational while the new one is built alonside.
