Al Forsan Continues to Grow Using SACMI Technology

A new investment for KMG – Khater Massaad Group near Jeddah with the brand name Al Forsan, was established in the King Abdullah Economic City in Saudi Arabia.

Here, in the Al Forsan Industrial District, the sanitaryware factory, first of three ceramic production plants established in close collaboration with SACMI/IT, has successfully been tested and started up. In addition to the high-efficiency body preparation, Al Forsan Sanitaryware has installed innovative SACMI-designed solutions for the pressure casting of sanitaryware using porous resin moulds. The Al Forsan plant can now count on a new already-operational multi-mould high-pressure casting bench for the manufacture of open-rim WCs that has a highly efficient working cycle and is fully automated. The thus-produced WCs are then transferred to the new Gaiotto robotised glazing line, the SACMI Group company specialised in process automation. The products are then transported to the kiln for firing and, when required, re-firing. The firing process takes full advantage of the cutting-edge kilns supplied by Riedhammer/DE (a tunnel and a shuttle kiln). The shuttle kiln provides unrivalled performance in terms of efficiency, energy savings (due to the EMS energy Management system) and output quality. The sanitaryware manufacturing facility is just one of three plants at the Al Forsan complex, with two other sites for manufacturing ceramic tiles and another to the production of faucets. The productivity on the new sanitaryware line has now reached 3000 pieces a day, or about 1 million pieces a year.
