The 5th Edition of the Tecnargilla Design Award

The 5th edition of the Tecnargilla Design Award (TDA), the competition devised by Tecnargilla – world’s most important exhibition in terms of ceramics and brick supplies – to be hold 24–28 September 2018 in Rimini/IT, will reward the latest technological innovations, materials and finishes for surfaces applicable to ceramic tile production.

This year, participants must tackle the theme of “The Three Dimensions“, showcasing their creativity in innovative, original projects based on the three-dimensional nature of materials, one of the most referenced future trends in ceramics. A concept that strives for increasingly sophisticated design levels in symbiosis with the use of advanced technologies, colours, decorations and finishes that confirm, once again, the central role of ceramic industry suppliers in creating added value. The display will be set up in the Central Hall of the exhibition district in Rimini during Tecnargilla. The exhibited projects, original creations capable of transmitting new expressive languages, will act as a stimulus for the global ceramic market. Selecting the winner will be technical and creative directors of ceramic companies, ceramic tile retailers, designers and journalists who will take into account the degree of innovation and research, the originality, technical/aesthetic skill and reproducibility on an industrial scale.
Organised by Acimac (Association of Italian Manufacturers of Machinery and Equipment for Ceramics) and IEG – Italian Exhibition Group – the company created through a merger of Rimini Fiera and Fiera di Vicenza, the exhibition offers the best of innovation in aesthetics and processes for the sector every two years, playing host to all the leading companies and attracting a great number of international buyers to Rimini. Tecnargilla was the exhibition with the most visits from international operators in its 2016 edition too: 16 764 (+6,3 % on 2014) foreign buyers from a total of 33 395 visitors (+4 % on 2014). Tecnargilla welcomed 500 exhibitors in 2016 (40 % of which from around 25 countries) covering an area of 80 000 m² (+7 % on the 2014 edition) approx, divided into four exhibition sections: Tecnargilla, dedicated to technologies for ceramic tiles, sanitaryware and tableware; Kromatech, the showcase for colour and creativeness in ceramics; Claytech, the section dedicated to technologies for bricks; T-White the exhibition area dedicated to the production of machinery and plants for the production of ceramic sanitaryware and tableware. The 2018 edition will feature two new sections: Greentech, devoted to green technologies and products, and T-Finishing, devoted to finishing technologies and all processes capable of improving the aesthetics of ceramic products.
