Influence of Ceramic Granule Properties on Die Filling Behaviour
Flowability of ceramic granules is an important property regarding the die filling in the compaction process. This paper presents the influence of granule properties on the die filling behaviour and thereby on the efficiency of the die filling process. A filling device, which allows the characterisation under process conditions, was used for experimental analysis. The strong influence of d50 on the die filling behaviour and its interaction with the width of the granule size distribution as well as the granule density are shown.
