Powder- and Suspension-Based Additive Manufacturing of Hardmetals
Additive Manufacturing (AM) is one of the most promising developments currently underway within different kind of industries. It promises new products and applications for the industry and end consumers. However, many different technologies with different names already exist, leading often to confusion due
to the use of different names for similar techniques. The Fraunhofer Institute for Ceramic Technologies and Systems – IKTS/DE has been developing new AM technologies and improves existing methods for ceramics, glasses and hardmetals for many years. The latter is an important material for the tooling industry.
