SAMA: Expertise in Tableware Technology – Continuing Tradition on the International Stage

In 1996, SAMA was established by Günter Söthje, Karl-Heinz Bräuer
and Gerhard Seitz. Of the 27 employees at that time, 17 came from
the predecessor company Maschinenfabrik Geb. Netzsch in Selb and
10 from Voit in Weissenstadt, where the manufacturing site was
taken over. They could all draw on many years of expertise in tableware
manufacturing, which they had acquired in the heartland of
the German porcelain industry in Upper Franconia. The Sacmi Group
based in Imola/IT came on board back in 1997, and today it is 100-%
owner of SAMA, which now employs 120 people.
At the 20-year anniversary in September 2016, the company bid farewell
to the 66-year-old Gerhard Seitz (GS) – as the last of the company
founders – who has now gone into retirement. In the months
previously, he had been teaching the ropes to ceramics engineer
Dietmar Preißinger (DP) in his main area of work of international
sales and marketing and transferred to him the commercial power of
attorney. We were able to talk to them both on the development of
the company and the international tableware market.
