Highly Energy-Efficient, Space-Saving Production of Sensor Elements

Extremely high temperatures are needed to manufacture electroceramic products, making energy efficiency a key issue. This was the challenge faced by an Eisenmann/DE customer. As a leading manufacturer of ceramic sensor elements, the company required reliable high-temperature processes to ensure consistently high product quality. But that was not the only priority. It also sought continuous improvements in energy efficiency. Its production plant in south-west Germany has employed elevator kilns (lift-base kilns) from Eisenmann for many years – exploiting heat recovered from the thermal oxidizers to preheat the incoming fresh air. Eisenmann’s technology also enables faster batch changeover thanks to load buffering, and allows intelligent use of space below the kilns.
