44th Hagener Symposium Focuses on Resilience in Powder Metallurgy

The 44th Hagener Symposium will once again bring together experts from industry, research and academia to discuss current developments in powder metallurgy. Under the theme “Powder Metallurgy: Resilience in Times of Change”, the event will address both technological progress and the economic challenges currently affecting the sector.

Changing supply chains, energy costs, raw material availability and evolving market requirements are placing increasing pressure on manufacturing industries. Against this background, the advantages of powder metallurgical production – particularly its high material efficiency and potential for resource conservation – are gaining renewed importance.

The technical programme will cover a broad spectrum of materials and processes, ranging from sintered steels and sintered carbides to refractory metals, non-ferrous metals and magnetic materials. Despite their different applications, these materials share many common processing steps. Accordingly, the symposium will also focus on key PM technologies such as compaction, additive manufacturing, heat treatment and strategies for the sustainable use of increasingly valuable raw materials.
A further highlight will be the presentation of the “SKAUPY Award” to Dr.-Ing. Jürgen Cornelius of INTECO melting and casting technologies GmbH, recognising his long-standing commitment to knowledge transfer and networking within the expert group on metal powder production.

The symposium will again place particular emphasis on young researchers. A dedicated poster session will provide scientists and engineers from academia and industry with an opportunity to present and discuss current projects and research results. In parallel, an extensive technical exhibition will showcase products, technologies and services covering the complete powder metallurgy process chain.

For more than four decades, the Hagener Symposium has established itself as an important meeting point for the PM community, combining technical presentations, scientific exchange, networking and direct contact with companies and research organisations.

Please note that the symposium and its presentations will be held in German.
