Researchers, engineers and industry experts working in refractory materials and high-temperature technologies are invited to submit their contributions to REFRA PRAGUE 2026 – the 23rd Conference on Modern Refractory Materials and Key Achievements in High-Temperature Technologies, taking place May 20–22, 2026 in Prague/CZ.

The Call for Contributions is still open. Abstracts can be submitted until March 20, 2026. Please send your abstract via email to the Czech Ceramic Society at info@silikaty.cz.

REFRA PRAGUE is an established international meeting point for scientists and industry professionals working in refractory materials and high-temperature processes. The conference provides a platform to exchange the latest research results, technological developments and industrial applications. The official language of the conference is English.

Conference topics include

  • Key raw materials – from strategic deposits and recycling to next-generation ceramic applications
  • Energy in high-temperature processing – efficiency, sustainability and circular economy
  • Innovative processing and smart technologies – including 3D printing, machine learning and applications in metallurgy, glass, chemical and building materials industries, as well as waste and biomass treatment
  • Corrosion and durability – understanding the impact of fuels, processes and harsh environments
  • Structure and modification – nanomaterials, advanced refractories and cutting-edge simulations
  • New grades and qualities – new materials, zero-carbon solutions and innovative performance trends

Keynote speakers

Confirmed keynote speakers include leading experts from academia and industry, such as Pavol Šajgalík (Slovak Academy of Sciences / ECerS), Christos G. Aneziris (TU Bergakademie Freiberg / DKG), Ondřej Jankovský (UCT Prague), Milan Henek (The Czech Ceramic Society), Christoph Wöhrmeyer (Imerys), Helge Jansen (Refratechnik Holding), Tomáš Strouhal and Lucie Keršnerová (RHI Magnesita CZ), Ladislav Rejta (Termostav-Mráz), and Willi Pabst (UCT Prague).

Preliminary programme

The conference will open on May 20 noon with registration, an award ceremony and the first lecture sessions, including a Young Ceramist Session, followed by a welcome reception. The scientific programme continues on May 21 and 22 with lecture sessions and networking opportunities.
