AOFC-2015: International Conference on Alumina and other Functional Ceramics

CSIR–CGCRI is organizing jointly with the Indian Ceramic Society the Conference AOFC-2015: International Conference on Alumina and other Functional Ceramics from 11–13 March 2015 at the Meghnad Saha Auditorium of the Institute.

The conference has been endorsed by the International Ceramic Federation (ICF) as was done on previous occasions. The basic idea behind this conference is to bring together researchers working on alumina and other functional ceramics in both private and national R&D Laboratories, Academic Institutes and Industries to emerge a road map of which direction should be taken to foster national economic and academic growth of India in this emerging sector of tremendous scientific and technological importance. The typical topics to be covered include but not necessarily limited to science and technology of alumina and other functional ceramics, e.g.,  Alumina particles and nanofibres; Functional coatings and materials; Abrasives; Thin films; Nanomaterials; Ceramics for biomedical applications; High- and ultrahigh-temperature ceramics; Advanced characterization, and Miscellaneous. As in previous occasions, one session will be dedicated to corporate presentation and well furnished rooms will be provided for one to one discussion. The Conference will be preceded by a very important One-Day Workshop on 10 March 2015 on Nano-Ceramics: Synthesis and Characterization prior to the conference having Internationally famous faculty members: Dr Antonio Alessandro Licciulli (Università del Salento/IT), Prof. Bikramjit Basu (Indian Institute of Science, Banglore/IN), Prof. Amitava Patra (Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science, Kolkata/IN), Dr Goutam De (CSIR–CGCRI, Kolkata/IN) and Dr Arnab Mukherjee (CSIR–CGCRI, Kolkata/IN).
