The trade fair, which is already taking place for the 18th time, is growing steadily and has established itself as the leading trade fair in Africa for the construction industry. Algeria expects investments for new housing equivalent to about EUR 43 billion for the next five years. These include building materials, ceramics and stone, heating and ventilation, plumbing, windows and doors, interior design and decoration, construction machinery and accessories, machines for the stone and marble industry, as well as hardware and tools. Last year, there were more than 1100 exhibitors (more than 50 % came from abroad) on approximately 45000 m2 of exhibition space. As many as 50000 trade fair visitors came to Algiers in 2014 to keep themselves up-to-date on the latest trends. In Algeria, there is a very high demand for new housing and hotels, as well as for institutions for education and health. The Algerian Minister of Housing, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, expects investments equivalent to about EUR 43 billion for the next five years, according to Germany Trade & Invest. As a result, both planned major settlements and even completely new towns as well as private homebuilding will be promoted.
