EMVA Appoints New General Manager

The European Machine Vision Association announces that Thomas Lübkemeier has been appointed General Manager for the EMVA. He takes over the responsibilities from Cor Maas, who has been serving in this position on a provisional basis from July to December 2012.
Thomas Lübkemeier joined the EMVA family in 2008, at that time being responsible for a machine vision system and solution provider located in Germany. Th. Lübkemeier holds a Master degree in Automation Engineering and he has spent his professional life in the Industrial automation area. His main focus has been the international business development in various regions of the world including being stationed abroad for a couple of years. Th. Lübkemeier developed his management and leadership skills by founding and directing sales organizations in Scandinavia, Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and North and South America. In Germany he managed international sales departments and performed in key accounting and product management. More recently he provided consultancy and executive search services to local and international customers. Founded in May 2003 in Barcelona, the European Machine Vision Association currently has about 130 members representing 22 nations. Its aim is to promote the development and use of machine vision technology and to support the interests of its members – machine vision companies, research institutions and national machine vision associations. The main fields of work of EMVA are: standardization, statistics, the annual EMVA Business Conference and other networking events, European research funding, public relations and marketing.
