MORTE Expands in Russia, the Balkans and Argentina

The Spanish company MORTE continues its international expansion in Russia, the Balkans and Argentina.

In the Balkans, the company entered into an agreement with ADVANTEX, which is to represent MORTE in this market. This agreement allows both commercial development and after-sales service. After the agreement was signed, some MORTE managers already travelled to Serbia, Kosovo, Montenegro in order to explore and contact various ceramics manufacturers. The first order has been placed in July. A similar distribution agreement has been signed in Argentina with the company KGM TRADE. The first order has already been delivered to Cerámicas Loimar, based in the province of Buenos Aires. In Russia, MORTE signed an agreement with the company SALVENA, first commercial procedures and orders have already been completed. Thus, a delegation of the Russian ceramics company 5th Element visited MORTE facilities in order to establish future business relations. They have already placed their first order. 5th Element is one of the most modern factories in Russia for the production of ceramic bricks, with automated production lines. The plant has been in operation since February 2010 and manufactures thermal-clay type blocks (Poroton) and exposed bricks. Its annual production is over 50 million bricks. In addition, Marcos Morte, MORTE CEO travelled to St. Petersburg to visit Pobeda LSRGroup and Petrokeramika. Pobeda LSR Group – Russia’s largest manufacturer of ceramic bricks – manufactures several models of bricks and has now its own raw material supplier. With Petrokeramika, an important company located in Tosnesky, in the Leningrad region, MORTE has already started marketing their products with the sale of the first dies. Petrokeramika has a daily output of 300 t. The plant manufactures perforated exposed bricks, solid exposed bricks, construction bricks and blocks (Porotherm). The operation was completed through Metalcértima Engineering, a company based in Portugal and specializing in the development, manufacture and installation of fully automated turn-key projects for the structural ceramics industry: bricks, tiles, etc. Metalcértima is part of a holding company dedicated to ceramics and has developed projects in Europe, Asia, Africa and America. The operations in Russia have been the result of the agreement with SALVENA, which aims to consolidate MORTE’s commercial presence in Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus and Turkestan. It is a market that the company considers to be strategic. This agreement allows MORTE to ensure aftersales service to its customers in Russia. The sector was officially informed of the agreement during the MosBuild 2013. (8/2013)
